Carefully copied from the marble original at the Kunstmuseum Athenaeum, Helsinki, The Danaide was executed during a period (1885) when Auguste Rodin was exploring the female nude in recumbent postures. Made from bonded white carrara marble, signed, imported from Italy, 15”L x 10”W x 8”H.
